Visuel Principal

Dear Colleagues,

Encouraged by the signature of a Collaborative Cooperation Agreement (sister institutes) between the National Institute for Materials Sciences and the University of Rennes 1 last July 2010, the 1st Workshop NIMS-UR1 will be held at the campus de Beaulieu in Rennes (amphitheatre Daniel Grandjean - bâtiment 10 B) on May 15-17th 2011.

The challenge displayed for this first workshop NIMS-UR1 is threefold. The first is to allow different researchers from both institutions to meet and exchange ideas around the theme "Materials and Sustainable Development" so as to initiate new collaborations. The second objective is to consolidate existing exchanges between researchers in NIMS and UR1 in the fields of nanomaterials, solid state chemistry, theoretical chemistry and physics. The third goal is that this workshop will also be a place for discussion around the joint Training-Research.

6 representative subjects of our two institutions are selected:

  • Functional materials
  • Optronic and thin films
  • (Nano)materials : control, design and applications
  • Glasses and Ceramics: optical and mechanical properties
  • (Nano)characterization and calculation
  • Soft-Matter and applications

The program of the workshop is available by cliking this link.
Two poster sessions are scheduled. If you want to present a poster of your work, you need register before March 31, 2011.

The conference access will be free and open to the limited number of seats available. For budget reasons, the meals are only available by invitation.

We believe your support will greatly enhance the workshop program.
